Apr 9 2010 – It emerges that Westfield’s Essex team-mate, Pakistani leg-spinner Danish Kaneria, has been investigated by police. Kaneria denies any wrong doing.
Aug 28 2010 – News of the World reports that Mohammad Amir, Salman Butt and Mohammad Asif involved in spot-fixing during their Test match against England at Lord's.
Sep 16 2010 – Westfield is charged with conspiracy to defraud.
Sep 23 2010 – Westfield appears in London Magistrates Court for the first time on charges of spot-fixing.
Nov 3 2011 – Butt, Amir and Asif receive jailed over the spot-fixing scandal exposed by News of the World. Their agent Mazheer Majeed is given 32 months in prison as “one of the architects of the fixing.”
Jan 12 2012 – Westfield pleads guilty to accepting corrupt payments. His sentencing hearing is adjourned until Feb 10.
